What is the Cat Walk?
The Cat Walk is a virtual event where participants commit to walk 30 miles in 30 days in recognition of having a happier, healthier life through physical activity and to raise awareness for the need for feline adoption. Adopting a cat will not only make a cat’s life better by giving it another chance at a loving home, but will also improve your life if you choose to adopt a new cat companion.
When is the Cat Walk?
The Cat Walk takes place for the entire month of June, which is National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month.
How do we participate?
Easy! Click the green button to sign up for the Cat Walk and get to stepping! You have 30 days to walk 30 miles at home, in your neighborhood, or on our 36 miles of trails in parks and around town. Keep track of your miles!
Swag
Participants who register by June 15 and complete their 30 miles by June 30 will receive a free Finisher’s Medal, as well as a certificate to adopt a cat at a discounted adoption fee! Missed the registration deadline for the medal? No problem! You can still participate in the Cat Walk for better health and an adoption certificate.
Finish Line
There will be a special opportunity to cross the "finish line" at Tri-City Animal Shelter where you will turn in your mileage log, collect your Finisher’s Medal, and meet some of the adoptable cat (and dog!) companions from the shelter. Date and details will be announced the week of June 29th.
Want to donate to help the animals?
If you’d like to donate to the Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter and their mission to improve the welfare of homeless, neglected, and lost animals by partnering with Tri-City Animal Shelter, you can make a donation during your registration or here on the Friends website. Proceeds from the race will help pets at the shelter receive veterinary care and find their fur-ever homes!
